CVS came in to Midtown in 2004 and built a standard suburban store across the street from the only true mixed-use project in the neighborhood. Learning from this failure of planning in Houston, Wulfe Urban convinced the seller of these two blocks to incorporate deed restrictions that encourages an urban project, paving the way for future urban village growth.
